Frequently Asked Questions:
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the ideal setup?
The ideal setup is to use an iPhone as the camera and an iPad as the monitor. For best results, you should have both in the same orientation, either portrait or landscape. Setup the iPhone on a tripod or a stand of some sort, using the provided overlays as a guide for positioning. Position the iPad on the ground right in front of you for ease of viewing. Also the rear facing camera is preferred over the front facing since it typically has higher resolution and multiple lens choices.
Why is only vertical mode supported on the iPhone?
Syncing live video between two devices is a bit tricky, especially handling all the possible orientations. Therefore, the app currently locks in the transmitting device to vertical mode so the receiver knows exactly what to expect.
How does SwingCamRT work?
The app uses Apples' proprietary peer to peer networking to send real-time video between two IOS devices.
Is there an Android version?
No. The app uses Apples proprietary technology to create the peer to peer network. So currently there is no support for Android devices.

Welcome to SwingCamRT
This app is for golfers who want to improve their swing and form through self learning. It allows the user to use two Apple IOS devices, one as a camera, and the second as a monitor to view and analyze your swing in real-time. For example, you can setup your iPhone as a camera and iPad as a remote display, and watch your swing in real-time.
- Records video in HD quality(720p) using the IOS device that you already own
- Remotely trigger recording and have the high res movie transferred automatically
- Provides various shapes on video for analysis

Features:
- RT in the name stands for Real Time. This application uses a low-latency peer to peer networking to provide live updates, It works even with no internet at places such as driving ranges and golf courses.- Records video in HD quality(720p) using the IOS device that you already own

The application runs in three modes:
"Receive Mode". This is the mode you should run your monitoring device in, either iPad or iPhone. The device will go into standby mode until a remote device is ready to transmit. Once there is another device transmitting, an invitation pop up asking you to accept the video stream.
"Transmit Mode". This is the mode that you should run your device that you want to record from. Ideal setup is the use an iPhone on a tripod, setup in either portrait or landscape mode. It will start broadcasting to all nearby receiving devices.
"Standalone Mode". This mode can be used to record with just one device. It will not broadcast in this mode.
The second device is ideally an iPad with a larger screen, but you can use a second iPhone in a pinch. Place it right in front of you where you can see yourself while swinging. Run the app in "Receive mode" and accept the invitation when you see it pop up. To record a video, press the record button on the receiver and it will start recording on the camera device. When you stop recording, it will automatically transfer the file to your receiving device and alert you that it is ready to view. Go to your recordings and replay it instantly in full HD resolution!

Minimum Hardware Requirements
The application requires significant amount of computing power in order to compress and transmit the video images in real-time. Therefore, a somewhat recent iPhone and iPad are required. It has been tested hardware as old as iPhone6 running IOS 12.4. Anything older than that will probably not provide a good experience.
How to Use
